4 weeks after surgery, at least 2 hours a day prone Ice 1, supermarkets, drugstores purchased ice packs frozen in the refrigerator, wrapped in a dry towel and placed on the affected side of the knee. Or put the corn kernels, green beans, etc. purchased in the supermarket in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator freezer, then take it out and use it. 2, each ice pack no more than 15 minutes, the same part of the two ice packs need to be 2 hours apart. 3.There is no time limit for applying ice, as long as the joints are still swollen, you can apply ice appropriately. 4, postoperative rehabilitation exercise after joint swelling and pain, should be ice, in order to reduce preventable swelling and pain. Crutches, braces and walking 1, must use double crutches within 4 weeks after surgery. 2. In most cases, the foot on the operated side can step on the ground and partially bear weight when getting out of bed and walking. 3. Please note that for patients with glenoid labral suture, the foot on the surgical side cannot step on the ground when walking with crutches for 4 weeks after surgery. 4, 5-6 weeks after surgery gradually transition to single crutches, until abandonment of crutches. 5.Note: Use the upper limb of the opposite side (non-operative side) to support the crutches. 6.The time of abandoning crutches can be extended according to your own situation. Precautions for daily life Walking with crutches is only to satisfy self-care, and too much walking is not encouraged. There is no need to stay in bed all the time after the operation, you can sit. However, within 4 weeks after surgery, the trunk should be leaned back when sitting so that the angle between the trunk and thighs is >90 degrees. If possible, use a toilet seat. For 4 weeks after surgery, try not to sleep on the surgical side to avoid compression of the wound. Hip Mobility Exercises Read the diagram below carefully first to understand the instructions for moving the hip joint in each direction. Passive Mobility Exercises 4-6 weeks after surgery Follow the instructions in the picture below and with the help of your family, passively move the hip joint (do not exert any force yourself, but with the help of others) to make the hip joint move in a circular motion to avoid the formation of scarring in the joint. Passive exercises of joint mobility are performed only through the circular motion for 4-6 weeks after surgery. However, it is noted that there are restrictions on hip mobility within 4 weeks after surgery: 1) no more than 90° within 4 weeks of forward flexion; 2) extension gently, not too fast; 3) no more than 30° within 3 weeks of abduction; 4) external rotation is prohibited within 4 weeks of external rotation; and 5) no restriction on internal rotation. Prone lying for at least 2 hours a day for 4-6 weeks after surgery 1. The purpose of prone lying is to continuously pull the joint capsule in front of the hip joint to avoid contracture of the joint capsule resulting in limitation of hip extension. 2, prone can be divided into several times, the total time of prone to reach 2 hours a day can be. 6 weeks after surgery 1, you can refer to the figure below, and gradually carry out the relevant active mobility exercises (own force). 2. Lunge exercise, with the healthy leg in front and the operated leg behind. The purpose is to fully pull the joint capsule in front of the hip joint. Muscle strength exercises around the hip joint Bridge training The order of the bridge training is to do the double-leg bridge first, after mastering the movement essentials; do the double-leg bridge + single-leg bridge on the healthy side, which can be completed successfully; do the double-leg bridge + single-leg bridge on the healthy side + single-leg bridge on the affected side. 1, double leg bridge exercise (2 weeks after surgery) as shown in the figure below: supine position, bend the knees and hips, always keep the knees separated, shoulder width apart. Buttock muscle contraction slowly lift the buttocks, away from the bed, until the torso and legs into a straight line, note: the upper limbs do not force, the buttocks must be lifted up to tighten the anus so that the buttock muscles are fully contracted. Lift 50-100 times a day, can be grouped according to their own situation. 2, single-leg bridge exercise (skilled completion of the two-legged bridge exercise and then carry out) as shown in the figure below: only the affected limb as a support for the contraction of the gluteal muscles, slowly lifting the buttocks. Lie on your back, bend your knees and hips, and always keep your knees separated and shoulder-width apart. The gluteal muscles contract to slowly lift the buttocks off the bed until the trunk and legs are in a straight line. Note: Do not exert force on the upper limbs; when the hips are lifted, the anus must be tightened so that the gluteal muscles are fully contracted; both knees try to maintain the same height. Lift 50-100 times a day, can be grouped according to their own situation.
