What is a mixed ovarian mass?

The nature of the ovarian mixed mass cannot be generalized because of the different factors that cause it. It may be an inflammatory mass, an ovarian tumor, or an ectopic pregnancy, so according to the different ovarian mixed masses, the patient’s condition, medical history, and menstrual history need to be combined with laboratory tests to make a clear diagnosis. If the mass has been infected with gynecological inflammation during this period of time and the echogenicity of the mass is predominantly cystic, consider that it may be an inflammatory mass, and if the mass is solid in echogenicity and predominantly strong positive echogenicity, consider that it may be an ovarian tumor. If there is a history of menopause during this period, and the blood HCG test is positive, there is no obvious echogenicity of the pregnancy sac in the ultrasound, and a mixed mass is seen on the ovary, you need to be careful about the possibility of ectopic pregnancy, in this case, you need to follow up the blood HCG value and combine with the clinical symptoms and ultrasound to make a clear diagnosis, and then consider the targeted symptomatic treatment. If pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy are ruled out, this situation is mostly considered to be an inflammatory mass or ovarian tumor, mainly depending on the echogenicity of the mass. If the mass is a mixed mass, mainly solid or mixed with disorganized echogenicity, most of them are considered to be ovarian tumors, probably mixed tumors, once found, regardless of the size, they need to be treated by surgery as soon as possible, and after surgery, the tissues should be sent for pathological examination to clarify the diagnosis.
