What to take for a child’s cough

What medication to take for children’s cough needs to be based on the cause, which may be caused by bronchitis, pneumonia and cough variant asthma. Generally use amoxicillin, azithromycin, budesonide and so on.
1. Bronchitis, pneumonia: bronchitis and pneumonia caused by infections can lead to coughing and sputum in children. Amoxicillin can be used when there is bacterial infection; azithromycin can be taken orally when Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Chlamydia are infected; oseltamivir can be taken orally when influenza virus is infected.
2. Cough variant asthma: cough as the main symptom, there may be no obvious wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath and other manifestations. It can be treated by inhalation with salbutamol aerosol, or by inhalation with glucocorticosteroids such as budesonide.
Children with cough, it is recommended to go to the pediatrician in time for medical examination, do not self-medication. All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
