How to Diagnose Ankylosing Spondylitis

The diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis mainly relies on imaging features and clinical features.
1.Imaging features.X-ray shows unilateral sacroiliac arthritis grade III~IV, or bilateral sacroiliac arthritis grade II~IV. MRI shows active inflammatory lesions in the sacroiliac joints, with clear bone marrow edema or osteitis.
2. Clinical features. Clinical features include inflammatory back pain, arthritis, Achilles tendonitis, ocular uveitis, and finger (toe) inflammation.
The diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis should be made by professional and experienced rheumatologists. It is recommended that patients with the above features should consult the rheumatology and immunology department of regular hospitals in a timely manner, and make a clear diagnosis after completing the relevant examinations under the guidance of the doctor, and follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the diagnosis and treatment.
