The administration of human albumin in the late stage of cancer is related to the patient’s condition and general situation. Most patients have a poor prognosis and usually survive for only 6-12 months. Human albumin is a protein extracted from human blood and is mainly synthesized by the liver. It has no therapeutic effect on cancer patients and therefore does not significantly prolong the survival of cancer patients. Most of the patients with advanced cancer have poor quality of life and their own general condition, and their survival period is relatively short, and generally only symptomatic treatment can be done. Due to tumor depletion, patients with advanced cancer will show signs of cachexia such as hypoproteinemia, edema and wasting, etc. In this case, human albumin can be appropriately supplemented to relieve edema and other symptoms, but it has no effect on tumor killing. Therefore, patients with advanced cancer may only survive for 6-12 months or even less with human albumin. For patients with advanced cancer, it is recommended to try to have a diet of high quality protein, such as eggs, milk, lean meat, etc., and at the same time to have a light diet, pay attention to keep warm and avoid colds.
