Erythrocyte morphology analysis cannot diagnose IgA nephropathy. Erythrocyte morphology analysis is a means to test the morphological changes of red blood cells, blood erythrocyte morphology test can not diagnose IgA, urine erythrocyte morphology analysis can only determine whether the red blood cells originated from the glomerulus, but can not diagnose the disease. IgA nephropathy is a common primary glomerular disease, the symptoms of which are most common as episodic microscopic hematuria and persistent microscopic hematuria, which can be accompanied by proteinuria of different degrees.The diagnosis of IgA nephropathy can only be based on renal biopsy and pathologic typing according to the Oxford Classification, and combined with the patient’s symptoms and other related indicators, it can be risk-stratified, so as to guide the treatment. In IgA nephropathy, the morphological analysis of erythrocytes in urine is dominated by deformed erythrocytes, but the results of urinary erythrocyte analysis cannot be used to determine whether it is IgA nephropathy. When abnormal urine test is found, you should go to the hospital in time to get a clear diagnosis and guide the treatment.
