Does taking Dacia affect the H. pylori test?

Taking Daxi usually does not affect the H. pylori test.
The generic name of the drug, Daxi, is magnesium aluminum carbonate chewable tablets, which is an antacid drug that can neutralize gastric acid and reduce the concentration of gastric acid in the stomach, and is mainly used in clinics for treating acute and chronic gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcers, and reflux esophagitis, as well as for treating gastric acid-related gastric discomforts, such as gastroparesis, heartburn, belching, fullness, and so on.
Patients may experience adverse reactions such as diarrhea, vomiting, and dry mouth after taking it, but it usually does not affect the H. pylori test and patients can undergo the test normally.
Drugs that have an effect on H. pylori test mainly include antibiotics, inhibition of gastric acid secretion, bismuth drugs, such as amoxicillin, omeprazole, bismuth potassium citrate, etc. Patients should be prohibited from taking bismuth and antibiotics 1 month before the test, and prohibited from taking drugs to inhibit gastric acid secretion for 14 days, so as to avoid affecting the test results.
It is recommended to consult the doctor in advance before the Helicobacter pylori test, and make good preparation before the test under the doctor’s guidance.
