The leukemia maintenance period generally refers to the maintenance treatment period of leukemia, which is a special period between chemotherapy and disease-free survival after the end of the intensive treatment phase. After leukemia has been consolidated or hematopoietic cell transplantation through standardized treatment, and after complete remission has been achieved, the treatment is often further consolidated and maintained after the end of the intensive treatment phase in order to reduce the recurrence of the disease, prolong the duration of remission, improve the survival rate, and reduce the relapse rate. The maintenance phase is the final stage of the whole chemotherapy, which is one of the important stages for the success of the treatment. Acute leukemia generally after induction of remission therapy, early intensive therapy, consolidation therapy, delayed intensive therapy, then enter the maintenance therapy phase, in order to minimize the residual leukemia cells, to avoid relapse. If leukemia is diagnosed, it is recommended to standardize treatment under the guidance of a doctor to achieve long-term survival.
