Stroke Terminology

Stroke, also known as cerebrovascular accident, consists of two categories: 1) symptoms of neurological impairment caused by rupture of cerebral blood vessels. 2) brain damage caused by cerebral blood vessel obstruction. Stroke is an acute cerebrovascular disease, according to the amount of bleeding and the size of the infarction site, directly related to the prognosis. The biggest danger for this kind of patients is that the infarction or bleeding will cause the intracranial pressure to increase, thus affecting the patient’s consciousness and vital signs, which can lead to the death of the patient in serious cases. For patients with stroke, they need to seek medical treatment immediately and improve the early imaging examination, such as C T, head magnetic resonance DWI examination, so as to make a clear diagnosis and early treatment.
