Esophageal cancer takes years to form

The exact time of esophageal cancer formation is not fully determined, it may be more than ten years or longer. Generally, the occurrence of esophageal cancer may be related to diet, environment, heredity, genetic mutation, etc. For example, there may be esophagitis and esophageal ulcer in the early stage, and then further develop to precancerous lesion, and further development will lead to esophageal cancer. The diagnosis of esophageal cancer can be confirmed mainly by gastroscopy and pathological examination, and after the diagnosis is confirmed, it has to be examined to see if there is metastasis in other parts of the body. If there is no metastasis, esophageal cancer can be considered for radical surgery, and generally after surgery, it needs to be combined with adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy and other comprehensive treatments. Usually, early and mid-stage esophageal cancer can be treated very well after comprehensive treatment, and some of them can survive for a long time.
