Patients with high blood calcium are advised to eat less calcium-rich foods, like dairy products, such as milk and cheese, which contain more calcium and are recommended to be avoided. If patients with elevated blood calcium are advised to drink enough water daily, it is better if they can drink light salt water, or pure water without calcium, and if they have no problems with their heart function, it is generally recommended to drink 4-6 L/d. Also, they can take diuretics, such as furosemide, after drinking a lot of water, to take away excess calcium through urination, which can achieve the purpose of lowering blood calcium.
