What is a normal titer?

A normal test result is 0, which means no infection or complete cure, while other values of titer are abnormal. Syphilis can be transmitted through sexual intercourse and contact, as well as through mother-to-child transmission, which seriously affects human health. The syphilis titer test is also known as the syphilis unheated serologic response test, or TRUST for short, and is generally only needed if the initial screening for infectious diseases indicates positive or suspected syphilis antibodies, or if the person has clearly been infected. A titer of 0 indicates that there is no syphilis spirochete infection in the body, while a titer of 1:4 indicates that there are syphilis antibodies in the body, or that the person has been infected but is not currently infectious. If the titer is 1:8 or higher, it indicates that the syphilis is in the active phase and is highly infectious and must be treated promptly. In addition, the syphilis titer test can also be used as a reference value to detect the effectiveness of treatment.
