Nenoxacin malate capsule is a non-fluoroquinolone antimicrobial agent that inhibits DNA gyrase and type IV topoisomerase enzymes required for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. Nenoxacin malate capsule is commonly used clinically for the treatment of mild to moderate community-acquired pneumonia in adults (≥18 years of age) due to infections with sensitive organisms such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, C. catarrhalis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, as well as Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia pneumoniae, and Legionella pneumophila.
