Uterine vascular malformation is one kind of arteriovenous fistula, which often leads to intermittent vaginal hemorrhage and is relatively rare. Whether the uterine vascular malformation is serious or not is related to the condition, and it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital as soon as possible. Uterine vascular malformations may be associated with congenital vascular developmental malformations, or with multiple deliveries, curettage, infections and other factors. The most common symptom of uterine vascular malformation is intermittent vaginal bleeding, which may lead to shock in severe cases. Patients with milder symptoms require ultrasound-guided removal of blood clots, and bleeding can also be stopped by uterine arteriovenous embolization. Patients with repeated heavy bleeding are more severe and may require hysterectomy. When the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding is unknown, the patient needs to go to the hospital as soon as possible to get a clear diagnosis and early treatment to prevent the condition from deteriorating.
