Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases and a common cause of human mortality, with approximately 300 million hypertensive patients in China. The target organ damage is as follows: 1. Small arteries: Small arteries have fibrosis of the walls and narrowing of the lumen. It is evident in the small arteries of the kidneys, and the lesions lead to ischemic damage to major organs of the body: such as the heart, brain, and kidneys. 2.Aorta: The aorta undergoes mesangial cystic necrosis and entrapment separation, resulting in life-threatening high pressure blood flow that tears the arterial intima. 3, heart: left ventricular hypertrophy, left atrial growth, left heart failure (currently the most difficult cardiovascular disease to treat). 4.Central nervous system: cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral thrombosis. Patients develop limb, voice, and mental dysfunction. 5, kidney: due to arterial lumen narrowing or even occlusion leading to renal parenchymal ischemia, eventually leading to renal failure – uremia. 6, retina: retinopathy mainly manifests as hemorrhage and exudation and optic nerve papillary edema, which seriously affects the patient’s vision. If patients with hypertension control their blood pressure as recommended by their physicians and maintain a healthy lifestyle, the appearance of the above target organ damage will be delayed and the impact on quality of life will be reduced. If the patient does not pay attention to the increase in blood pressure and does not control it, and then treats it after the target organ damage is severe, it will be difficult and expensive to treat. The emergence of large blood vessel rupture, heart failure, kidney failure, limb, voice, and mental dysfunction is difficult to recover, and can even lead to death, causing lifelong regret for the patient and his or her loved ones.
