Gadfly, also known as gadfly, cow mosquito, etc., has the medicinal efficacy of expelling blood stasis, breaking up the accumulation of masses and clearing up menstruation. It is used in treating obstruction in the abdomen (tangible or intangible lumps in the abdomen with distension and pain), accumulation of blood in the abdomen, stagnation of blood and menstruation, and stasis of blood in servants.
1. Women’s blood stasis and menstrual occlusion (menstrual occlusion caused by stagnation of blood stasis): gadfly can expel blood stasis and open up the menstruation (get rid of blood stasis and open up the menstruation). It can be used in the treatment of blood stasis and menstruation closure, post-partum malignant discharge, pain in umbilicus and abdomen, and is often paired with Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, Leeches. The drug breaks blood stasis and expels blood stasis more fiercely, and can abort the fetus when used alone.
2. Accumulation of obstruction in the abdomen, dry blood consumption, evidence of blood storage: gadfly can break blood and expel blood stasis, eliminate the symptoms (elimination of abdominal lumps) and disperse knots. It can be used to treat the syndrome of blood accumulation, which is characterized by hardness in the abdomen, spontaneous urination, yellowish body, and the person is like a madman. It can be combined with rhubarb and leech to expel stasis and heat, and can be used to treat the syndrome of accumulation of impediments and lumps.
3. Bruises, laryngeal paralysis (pharynx is red, swollen and painful, or dry, with foreign body sensation, or pharynx is itchy and uncomfortable, and swallowing is difficult), swelling and poison: gadfly has the function of dispersing blood stasis and eliminating swelling. For the treatment of bruises, blood stasis, swelling and pain, it can be used with danpi powdered wine to dissipate blood stasis and eliminate swelling; or used together with frankincense, myrrh, earth aojia, panax ginseng to dissipate blood stasis and alleviate pain, its effect is especially fast.
It is recommended that patients use gadfly under the diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine, so as to avoid the adverse consequences caused by blind use of medicines.
