Elephant skin leg, which we clinically call lymphedema. There are many causes of lymphedema, most of which are secondary to acquired functional impairment. Most secondary lymphedema of the lower extremities is caused by filariasis, trauma, surgery, radiation therapy, local infection, constrictive pericarditis, tumor metastasis and recurrence. Lymphedema manifests as unilateral or bilateral limb, persistent, progressive swelling, early patients may manifest as depression edema in the front of the shin, elevation of the affected limb edema can be reduced or subside. If standing or sitting for a long time, the manifestation of lymphedema will be aggravated, and with the development of the disease, the limb appears to be fibrotic and obviously thickened. In the advanced stage of the disease, the extreme fibrosis and abnormal thickening of the skin tissue will be manifested as extreme swelling of the limb, with greater tension, higher skin temperature, and dermatitis changes in skin color, which is like elephant’s leg, and we call it elephantiasis.
