Scar is an inevitable product of human trauma repair, obvious scar affects the aesthetics and serious scar affects the function.
Etiology: Trauma, car accident, surgery, inflammation, drug injection, radiation therapy, burns, scalds, etc.
Treatment: Generally scarring takes about 1 year of recovery period before secondary repair. However, surgical treatment should be advanced in important areas, affecting eye closure, breathing, eating, and important functions. The recovery period and post-surgery are combined with anti-scar treatment according to each person’s specific situation, such as applying scar cream for 3-6 months, or scar paste for external use, or with physical therapy, for hyperplastic keloid and keloid need to be combined with radiation therapy, otherwise the scar will recur.
Therefore it is best to cosmetically suture the first time after trauma, which can reduce scar production and make the surgery relatively easy for secondary repair.
