It is possible to cure bladder cancer after 10 years, patients should need to follow the doctor’s prescription for surgical treatment, drug treatment and other treatments.
1. Surgical treatment: Usually, patients with non-basal invasive bladder cancer need to undergo transurethral cystectomy as prescribed by doctors, while some patients can also undergo cystectomy or radical cystectomy. If it is muscle invasive bladder cancer, radical cystectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection are the main treatments.
2. Drug treatment: usually patients need to use drugs such as epirubicin, gemcitabine, doxorubicin and so on for bladder perfusion treatment. Patients with metastatic bladder cancer or bladder cancer that fails chemotherapy can also be treated with PD-1 inhibitors such as tirilizumab and atezolizumab and PD-L1 inhibitors such as durvalizumab and avelumab. If the patient needs systemic chemotherapy, then also need to use gemcitabine, cisplatin and other drugs.
3. Others: if patients cannot tolerate surgery or there are unresectable lesions, they can also be treated with neoadjuvant radiotherapy and other treatments.
It is suggested that bladder cancer patients should be treated according to the degree of their condition as early as possible, so as to avoid the delay of the condition, which may affect the survival time. Drugs should be applied under the guidance of doctors.
