Read the drug instructions in detail, the more regular drugs on the instructions of the usage is still relatively clear, the general drug is more than three times a day, this method of taking drugs to pay attention to is to try to interval 8 hours, so as to make the effect of the drug relatively smooth, rather than simply take with meals. Only the glucose-lowering drugs that control postprandial blood sugar are required to be taken before eating. And the twice-a-day medications are also tried to open the time evenly. For once-a-day medications, there are some medications that are required to be taken after waking up, such as most of the antihypertensive medications; some are better to be taken at night, such as aspirin. Oral medications need to be digested and absorbed into the gastrointestinal tract to take effect. Individual medications, such as nitroglycerin, are absorbed through the sublingual blood vessels, so it is recommended to take medications in a sitting or standing position to avoid irritation or even damage to the esophagus caused by the medication adhering to the esophageal wall. It is recommended to take the tablets with a small glass of water, except for drugs with special requirements, do not swallow them dry, crush them and dissolve them, as this may change the absorption of the drug, affect its efficacy and increase the chance of side effects. It is especially important to note that some special preparations, such as effervescent tablets, cannot be taken directly orally, some are used as lotions, and in time for drinking, they need to be melted with water before taking, because they produce a lot of gas when dissolved, which may cause damage to the gastrointestinal tract. For oral liquids, it is recommended that the dose should be taken in the small measuring cup allotted, and the measuring cup should be washed after taking the medicine. If you need to take more than one drug, you need to know whether there are any adverse reactions between the drugs, and you need to consult your pharmacist in this regard. It is not necessary to take too much water when taking medication, as this will also affect the digestion of the medication, and likewise the absorption of the medication will be affected by the reduced blood supply to the intestines immediately after taking the medication.
