How to treat an unclosed foramen ovale

Ovarian foramen failure with obvious shunt can be treated with medication, intervention and surgery.
1. Pharmacological treatment: mainly using anticoagulants such as warfarin and antiplatelet agents such as clopidogrel for treatment.
2. Interventional therapy: Occlusion of the patent foramen ovale is performed under local anesthesia, in which a catheter is sent to the heart through the femoral vein and the occluder is released to close the patent foramen ovale.
3. Surgical treatment: surgical repair of the unclosed foramen ovale, which is currently replaced by interventional treatment due to the high trauma and complications of surgery.
Unclosed foramen ovale without shunt or with small shunt is mostly asymptomatic, but should be treated when there is obvious shunt or accompanied by unexplained stroke, migraine, transient ischemic attack and so on. Patients are advised to consult a specialist and choose the appropriate treatment according to their condition.
