There is no ovulation after pregnancy. This is because at the time of pregnancy, about ten weeks before, the corpus luteum of pregnancy produces estrogen and progesterone so as to maintain the continuation of pregnancy. After the tenth week of pregnancy, the corpus luteum function is replaced by the placenta. After pregnancy, regular maternal examinations are recommended and appropriate clinical tests are performed. It is also recommended not to have sex during the first trimester because the pregnancy is still unstable, and not to have sex during the second trimester to avoid premature rupture of the membranes.
