Sitz bath therapy for chronic prostatitis

Chronic prostatitis sitz bath therapy refers to preparing hot water with a temperature of 38~40 degrees in a basin, placing one’s buttocks completely in it, and controlling the sitz bath to about 20 minutes, which is carried out 1~2 times a day. Sitz bath can improve the tissue edema of the prostate and promote the dissipation of its inflammation. It can relieve symptoms such as discomfort in the perineum and pelvis, accelerate blood circulation in the pelvis, and thus reduce local inflammation. Sitz bath is not recommended if there is a wound on the buttocks, so as not to cause infection and affect the healing of the incision. When taking a sitz bath, care should be taken to place the testicles and scrotum outside the basin to avoid problems with the spermatogenesis of the testicles due to the high temperature, thus affecting male fertility. Sitz bath is also not recommended for men with reproductive needs. If you have chronic prostatitis, please go to a regular hospital for treatment.
