The nerves in the legs are peripheral nerves. Peripheral nerves refer to all nerves outside of the brain and spinal cord, including ganglia, nerve trunks, plexuses, and nerve end devices. They include the ulnar nerve, median nerve, tibial nerve, peroneal nerve and so on. Among them, the tibial nerve and peroneal nerve belong to the leg nerves, so the leg nerves belong to the peripheral nerves. Peripheral nerves can also be categorized into visceral nerves and somatic nerves according to their distribution objects, in which somatic nerves are mainly distributed in joints, body surface, bones and skeletal muscles, so the nerves of the legs belong to somatic nerves. Common peripheral neuropathies include trigeminal neuralgia, facial paralysis, brachial plexus nerve injury, ulnar nerve injury, radial nerve injury, median nerve injury, tibial nerve injury, peroneal nerve injury and so on. When a nerve in the leg is damaged, patients should actively identify the cause and treat it.
