The lesions of adenomyoma and adenomyosis are the same in nature, but the lesions of adenomyoma are small in scope and adenomyosis is more extensive, thus the latter is relatively more serious. 1. Uterine adenomyoma: adenomyoma lesions are usually more limited, such as adenomyoma growing in the anterior wall of the uterus or the posterior wall of the uterus and other regional areas, the scope of lesions is smaller than adenomyosis. 2. Adenomyosis: The lesions of adenomyosis are usually more extensive, which can involve the whole uterus, and some patients with adenomyosis can’t even distinguish the boundaries of normal uterus, which is more serious than adenomyoma due to its wider lesion scope. If adenomyoma or adenomyosis is present, early treatment is recommended to minimize the adverse effects of the disease.
