Patients with rheumatoid arthritis should meet at least the following 5 criteria and last for at least 2 months to be judged in clinical remission: 1. morning stiffness of no more than 15 minutes; 2. no weakness; 3. no joint pain; 4. no joint tenderness or pain on movement; 5. no soft tissue swelling in the joint area or tendon sheath; 6. blood sedimentation (Weil’s method) of less than 30 mm/h in women and less than 20 mm/h in men. The following conditions must be excluded, namely the presence of clinically active pleurisy, vasculitis, pericarditis, myositis, fever secondary to rheumatoid arthritis, and unexplained weight loss are not diagnosed as complete clinical remission.
