How long does bile duct cancer survive puncture and drainage?

Cholangiocarcinoma with puncture and drainage may survive for 0.5~1 year, but it should be analyzed according to individual’s physique, clinical stage and psychological state. Most of bile duct cancers are caused by primary sclerosing cholangitis, cystic dilatation of bile duct, bile duct stones, Chinese testicular schistosomiasis, etc. In clinic, most of them show symptoms such as enlarged gallbladder, biliary tract infection, jaundice, biliary bleeding, liver abnormality, etc. Most of them are treated by radical surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and so on. Puncture and drainage mainly plays the role of reducing yellowness, and after cholangiocarcinoma is performed to reduce yellowness by puncture and treated by surgery, then the survival time is longer, and it may be cured, and the overall 5-year survival rate is not more than 5%; if the survival time of cholangiocarcinoma in the middle and late stages is mostly between half a year and one year. This disease is highly specialized, one should go to regular hospitals in time, determine the specific treatment plan under the doctor’s guidance, and actively cooperate with the treatment to avoid the deterioration of the condition.
