The term “vacation” generally refers to a woman’s menstrual period. Excessive menstrual flow may be caused by acute cervicitis, uterine fibroids, endometriosis and so on, which can be treated by general treatment, medication, surgery and other methods under the guidance of the doctor.
1. Acute cervicitis: this disease is mainly caused by unclean sex, allergy to condom, vaginal foreign body, cervical injury, etc. Patients need to take bed rest, keep the vulva and vagina clean, and can also be treated with doxycycline, azithromycin, erythromycin, levofloxacin and other medicines under the guidance of doctors.
2. Uterine fibroids: If the patient is affected by genetic susceptibility, sex hormone level and other factors, resulting in the patient’s menstrual flow is too heavy. It can be treated by medication under doctor’s guidance. Commonly used medications include mifepristone, tranexamic acid, gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs, etc. Surgical procedures, such as myomectomy and hysterectomy, etc., are also available.
3. Endometriosis: If the endometrium grows outside the body of the uterus, thus causing the patient to have heavy menstrual flow, it can be treated by drugs such as ibuprofen, indomethacin, medroxyprogesterone, etc., or by surgery, such as fertility preservation surgery, ovary preservation surgery, radical surgery, presacral neurectomy, hysterosalpingo-hysterectomy, etc., under the guidance of the doctor.
There may also be other reasons for heavy menstrual flow, so patients are advised to go to the hospital to find out the cause of the problem under the doctor’s diagnosis and take targeted treatment.
