“A little tip for Meniere’s disease patients to know

For more information on the diagnosis of Ménière’s disease (i.e., Meniere’s disease), you can read my popular science article: “Diagnostic Basis of Ménière’s Disease”. But the patient’s symptoms do not appear sequentially as the book tells us, especially for a chronic disease like Ménière’s disease. From my own experience over the past few years, the appearance of symptoms in patients with Ménière’s disease can be different, or at least not identical. 1, Some first appear with symptoms of sudden deafness, followed by recurrent vertigo attacks slowly over the next 1-2 years. 2. Some of them have intermittent tinnitus or deafness without hearing loss and with or without vertigo attacks; 3. Very few of them have symptoms with falls; 4. They only visit the doctor when they have very poor hearing and have vertigo attacks and other symptoms when they are asked. The patient’s tolerance can be considered “very strong”. It is mostly seen in rural areas.
