Pharmacological effects of glucocorticoids

The pharmacological effects of glucocorticoids mainly affect the metabolism of sugar and protein, and have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, but have less effect on water and salt metabolism. The main effects: I. Anti-inflammatory effects. Its anti-inflammatory effect is non-specific and has significant inhibitory effects on different stages of various types of inflammation. The anti-inflammatory effect may be through the following mechanisms: 1. inhibition of granulocyte and macrophage migration outside the blood vessels, reducing the inflammatory invasive tissue response. 2. inhibition of inflammatory capillary dilation, reducing capillary wall permeability and edema formation. 3. stabilization of lysosomal membranes reducing, the release of hydrolytic enzymes from lysosomes, thus reducing damage to tissues. 4. inhibition of the process of DNA synthesis in granulosa cells. II. Anti-immune effect. Antitoxic effect. IV. Anti-shock effect. V. Effects on blood. VI. Central effects.
