How long does it take to recover from oral flap surgery



Oral flap surgery, also known as oral flap transplantation, there is no fixed time for how long it takes to recover, and it is related to the site of the lesion, the scope, and the patient’s physical condition. Clinically, normal diet can be resumed after 3 months.

1. Oral flap transplantation is a commonly used method in oral and maxillofacial surgery, which is used to repair the tissue defects in the oral cavity formed after trauma or tumor resection, and to restore the normal function of oral tissues. Oral flap transplantation can be divided into tipped flap, free flap, tubular flap transplantation and so on.

2. After oral flap transplantation surgery, the threads are removed from the extra-oral skin donor area in 7 days, the threads are removed from the intra-oral skin grafting area in 14 days, and the tip of the flap with the tip is broken in 14 to 21 days. Nasogastric feeding is required for 2 weeks after surgery, liquid diet for 2 to 4 weeks, semi-liquid diet for 4 to 8 weeks, and normal diet can be resumed gradually for 12 weeks after surgery.
