Hydroquinone Cream Benefits and Side Effects

Hydroquinone cream is used for the treatment of chloasma, freckles and hyperpigmentation as a skin discoloring agent that produces reversible skin discoloration by inhibiting the metabolic processes of melanocytes. The medication can be irritating to the skin and individuals may experience allergic side effects. Before using the drug on its sensitivity to skin test, can be applied to the undamaged skin for 24 hours, if a small amount of erythema, it is not necessary to disable the drug. However, if burning sensation, itching, blisters or specific inflammatory reaction occurs at the site of application, it is recommended to discontinue the use of the drug.
