It is possible that the vaccination failed if no abscesses were formed after BCG vaccination, and a tuberculin test is required 3 months after vaccination. If the test is negative, the vaccination will be repeated. If the tuberculin test is positive, vaccination is not necessary. In another case, pustules have not formed within half a month after vaccination, because the normal sequence of reactions after vaccination is that small hard nodules appear in the area of vaccination only 2-3 weeks after vaccination, then the hard nodules gradually soften and form pustules or abscesses, after which the pustules penetrate the skin and form shallow ulcers, then the ulcers crust over, and the scabs fall off and leave permanent scars.
