Difference between physiologic and pathologic fractures

There is no concept of physiologic fracture, fracture is divided into traumatic fracture and pathologic fracture, the difference between the two include different medical history, different imaging examination, different treatment modalities, as follows:
1. Traumatic fracture: generally under the action of physiological external forces, such as accidents or violence caused by bone tissue fracture, but also prone to cause soft tissue damage and neurovascular injury, the imaging manifestation of the interruption of the continuity of the skeleton, the general treatment modalities include internal fixation, external fixation, and treatment of complications.
2. Pathological fracture: refers to the bone itself has lesions, such as bone tumor, osteomyelitis, bone tuberculosis, etc., when subjected to slight external force or even in the course of normal activities can occur fracture, in the imaging examination not only manifested as a fracture, but also can be observed in the primary lesion, should be actively treated for the primary disease, and at the same time deal with the fracture site, to promote healing.
Fractures and pathologic fractures occur, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital, do not delay treatment.
