The symptoms of nasal polyps are directly related to the size and location of the polyp; in general, smaller polyps have no obvious symptoms; larger polyps can have symptoms such as nasal congestion.
Most of the smaller size, and single nasal polyps, patients have no obvious symptoms; with the increasing size of the polyp, there can be symptoms of progressive nasal congestion. Some patients may also have symptoms such as occlusive nasal sound, decreased sense of smell, and snoring during sleep when they speak.
If not intervened in time, the polyps continue to increase in size, can compress the neighboring organs, triggering the dysfunction of the Eustachian tube, tinnitus, hearing loss and other symptoms. If nasal polyps are found on both sides, it may also lead to deformity of the external nose.
There are obvious individual differences between different patients, and the clinical manifestations are different; once diagnosed, they should be examined as soon as possible and treated accordingly.
