What is the fever after wisdom tooth extraction?

Clinically, it is common for patients to have fever after wisdom tooth extraction, mainly for the following two reasons: First, chronic inflammation exists before wisdom tooth extraction, which can easily cause acute spread of inflammation after extraction, and fever can occur when the infection spreads to the whole body. Secondly, the patient’s immunity is relatively low, and when the wisdom teeth are extracted, the body cannot withstand the huge damage and fever will appear. Some diabetic patients are prone to fever after wisdom tooth extraction, so they can apply anti-inflammatory drugs for prevention before surgery and take oral cephalosporin and ornidazole for treatment immediately after extraction. The fever caused by wisdom tooth extraction should not be taken lightly and needs anti-inflammatory treatment.
