Cinnamon is also known as longan meat, there is no evidence that longan meat has beneficial or therapeutic effects on the prostate.
Longan meat is the aril of longan in the Sapindaceae family, sweet in flavor and warm in nature, and is attributed to the heart and spleen meridians. It has the effect of tonifying the heart and spleen, nourishing blood and tranquilizing the mind. It can tonify the heart and spleen, benefit qi and blood, and tranquilize the mind, neither nourishing nor congesting, and is used for the treatment of palpitations and dizziness (violent heartbeat, panic and restlessness), forgetfulness and insomnia caused by deficiency of the heart and spleen, and insufficiency of qi and blood, and blood deficiency and atrophy.
The adverse effects of this medicine are not clear. It should not be taken by those with dampness in the middle (too much dampness causing fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) and those with stoppage of drinking (water stays in the body), phlegm or fire.
There is no evidence that longan meat has beneficial or therapeutic effects on the prostate. If there is a need for medication, it is recommended that it be used under the guidance of a professional physician who can identify the evidence, and not blindly self-medication.
