Effects of Temozolomide

Temozolomide is a chemotherapy drug for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme and mesenchymal astrocytoma. This drug is generally recommended for a course of 28 days at a dose of 150 mg/m^2 once a day, and the patient’s blood cells should be monitored for decreased white blood cells, neutrophils, platelets, and hemoglobin during treatment. The most common adverse effects of this drug are gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting; there is a possibility of bone marrow suppression, but this can be relieved with the cessation of the drug, so patients with bone marrow suppression, as well as patients with hepatic and renal insufficiency need to use the drug with caution.
