Astrocytoma is an intracranial tumor of astrocytic cell origin that is classified into four grades according to the characteristics of its lesions. Grade 1 is a benign tumor that is well defined, slow growing, common in children and young adults, and has a better prognosis. The higher the grade of astrocytoma, the higher the degree of malignancy, and grade 4 has the highest degree of malignancy, with active proliferation of tumor cells and no clear boundaries.
The treatment of grade 4 astrocytoma mainly focuses on surgical resection of the tumor to maximize the extent of resection as much as possible, and then cooperate with local radiotherapy and chemotherapy to carry on the treatment, but its prognosis may be poorer.
