The navicular fracture of the hand is usually not dislocated after internal fixation, but may be dislocated again if there is excessive movement of the hand.
The internal fixation of navicular fracture of hand is relatively stable due to the use of plates and screws to achieve strong internal fixation, the fracture end is relatively stable, and will not be dislocated under normal circumstances. However, if the fracture is completely healed before strenuous hand activities or the plate and screw position is not good, resulting in stress concentration, the plate can be deformed and broken, losing the fixation effect, resulting in the reoccurrence of dislocation.
After internal fixation of navicular fracture of hand, patients are recommended to go to the hospital for regular checkups and improve the X-ray and other examinations of the wrist to know how the fracture is healing. In the early stage of fracture, it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise.
