Right posterior rib fracture requires pain control, pulmonary physiotherapy and early activity, closed single rib fracture can be immobilized with chest strap and multiple multiple rib fractures can be treated surgically. For rib fractures, the principles of treatment are pain control, pulmonary physiotherapy and early mobilization. Effective analgesia can improve lung function and minimize complications. Generally, rib fractures can be treated with oral analgesia with celecoxib or intramuscular analgesics. If the rib fracture is only a single one that is purely closed, it can be immobilized with a chest strap; if it is a multiple rib fracture with multiple sites, fibrilloscopic suction and pulmonary physiotherapy can be given, and incisional internal fixation can be performed to immobilize the ribs. Patients also need to be encouraged to perform early mobilization and functional exercises. Patients with right posterior rib fracture should follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment and review, and consult the doctor promptly if there is any physical discomfort during recovery.
