With the development of dialysis technology, the survival of hemodialysis patients is significantly longer, but the mortality rate remains high. The overall annual mortality rate of chronic hemodialysis patients is as high as 15%-25% , and the mortality rate of dialysis patients is the highest among chronic diseases. Although conventional hemodialysis (CHD) for 4 h three times a week can sustain patients’ lives, it is not the best treatment modality due to high morbidity and mortality, low quality of life, and high costs. Therefore, it is necessary to find an intensive dialysis modality that can better increase the adequacy of dialysis and improve the quality of life and prognosis of patients. In recent years, the main focus has been on extending the duration of dialysis and increasing the frequency of dialysis, such as night dialysis and daily dialysis. In our department, we have treated a group of patients with nighttime hemodialysis (INHD) mode in dialysis center for nearly 3 years, and found that INHD can improve hypertension, anemia, calcium and phosphorus metabolism, lipid metabolism disorders, improve cardiac function, improve quality of life, reduce the use of antihypertensive drugs, erythropoietin, active vitamin D3 and phosphorus-lowering drugs, with few adverse effects, and has good application prospects.
