Diabetic nephropathy (DKD), also known as diabetic glomerulosclerosis, has basic pathological changes such as thickening of the glomerular capillary basement membrane (GBM) and expansion of the thylakoid zone. Diabetic nephropathy (DKD) is the most important microvascular complication of DM and one of the main causes of chronic renal failure. 30% to 40% of type 1 diabetic patients develop nephropathy within 5 to 10 years, and 15% of type 2 diabetic patients develop nephropathy within 10 to 20 years. Diabetic nephropathy has become a major cause of end-stage renal disease in Western countries, and with the increasing incidence of diabetes in China, diabetic nephropathy will also increase. How to delay the progression of DKD has become a current international research hotspot. So far, there is no effective western medicine that can stop the natural process of renal function damage in DKD, however, the combination of Chinese and Western medicine is unique in treating DKD with remarkable efficacy. At present, there is a lack of effective Chinese patent medicines for the protection of renal function in diabetic nephropathy. After years of clinical experience, we developed Qixijiang capsule preparation as a new formula under the guidance of TCM theory combined with modern pharmacological research, which is an effective small compound preparation for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (DKD) from the spleen theory, intended to strengthen the spleen, invigorate blood, clear heat and dry dampness, and its idea is innovative, which is a new idea and new perspective of TCM treatment of DKD. In the 10 years of clinical practice, it has been proved that the treatment of DKD by strengthening the spleen, invigorating blood, clearing heat and drying dampness, and protecting kidney function is quite effective.
