Peritoneal metastasis is the most common type of recurrence of gastric cancer after surgery. Its manifestations are: 1. the appearance of ascites; 2. infiltration of intestinal canal, intestinal adhesion, formation of intestinal stricture and intestinal infarction; 3. the patient may appear wasting and other cachectic conditions. When there is ascites, laparotomy can be done to perform ascites tumor exfoliation cell examination to help diagnosis. Rectal finger examination can palpate nodules or masses, and peritoneal metastases have mostly lost the opportunity of surgery. If there is intestinal obstruction, surgery can be considered according to the patient’s condition. Abdominal chemotherapy is effective in inhibiting tumor growth, controlling ascites and prolonging the survival time of patients.
