Can the new coronavirus be contracted from the eyes? Can you go out without goggles during the outbreak?

Current clinical analyses do not support transmission of neocoronavirus by the conjunctival route at this time. The currently confirmed modes of transmission of neocoronavirus remain droplet-borne, contact transmission. The general public does not need to have to wear goggles when going to non-medical institutions and intensive places. The virus infects the human body by first invading mucosal cells, and if one has been in contact with objects contaminated with droplets from a person with New Coronavirus pneumonia, then, rubbing the eyes with the hands may cause infection. Contact with contaminated objects outdoors in well-ventilated areas is less likely, and care should be taken to wash hands frequently and avoid rubbing eyes. Because of the small probability of infection caused by viruses entering the eyes outdoors, the general public does not necessarily need to wear goggles when going for a walk. The main protection method is still to wear a mask, wash hands regularly, and ventilate and disinfect the environment.
