Tailbone pain after childbirth usually heals itself in a few months

Postpartum tailbone pain usually heals on its own in a few months, mainly depending on the patient’s personal constitution and his or her own situation, and the specific self-healing time should vary from person to person, and cannot be generalized. Under normal circumstances, postpartum tailbone pain is due to excessive compression of the tailbone caused by the delivery of the fetus out of the birth canal, resulting in contusions, fractures and other injuries here, the patient can have pain in this area after delivery. After bed rest and nutritional supplementation during the menstrual period, the pain can recover on its own in 42 days after delivery. For those who have mild pain symptoms, they can generally recover within 1 month after delivery. However, for pregnant women with a history of obstructed labor or vaginal assisted labor, the recovery time is relatively longer and varies from person to person. Therefore, the patient should try to take rest in the lateral position, and strengthen the protection of this area by taking calcium and vitamin D supplements, and standing and moving around the room frequently to accelerate the blood circulation in this area to promote the recovery.
