8 considerations after knee replacement surgery

  ①Avoid making long trips at the beginning of the surgery.  Generally do not go out for 2 months after discharge from the hospital. 3 months after surgery, if you recover well, you can go to a nearby supermarket or park, but you should not walk for more than 20 minutes at a time.  ② Prevent joint wear and fall.  Patients should preferably use a one-handed cane, especially when traveling and walking long distances, avoid walking on uneven or excessively smooth ground injuries avoid heavy physical labor and strenuous exercise, home floors should be dry and aisles free of debris to prevent falls, soles of shoes should be soft, avoid wearing slippers with smooth soles.  ③Control body weight and prevent excessive weight-bearing on joints.  ④Continue muscle strength training, such as kicking sandbags for resistance, straight leg raising exercises and cycling to maintain joint mobility.  ⑤ Take medication on time and do not increase or decrease the amount of medication at will.  ⑥Regular follow-up: the first follow-up in January, the second in 3 months, the third in June, and every year thereafter, and contact the surgeon promptly if there is any abnormality in the joint.  (7) Prevent and control infection and prevent infection of the joint caused by bacterial blood transmission. During other treatments (tooth extraction) and surgeries, you should tell your doctor that you have had an artificial joint replacement so that he or she can use antibiotics prophylactically.
