In the formula of Stop Cough San, Platycodon grandiflorus promotes the lung qi and dispels fire and cold; Thorny mustard disperses wind-dampness, clears the head and eyes, and is beneficial to the throat; Aster tonifies the deficiency and regulates the middle, and eliminates phlegm and quenches thirst; Pseudostemonopsis is sweet and bitter with a slight warmth, moistening the lungs; Phellodendron Bidentata is pungent, sweet and slightly cold, and is good at lowering phlegm and stopping coughs, and treating coughs in the lung qi of the lungs; Chen Pi guides the stagnation of the phlegm and eliminates phlegm; and Licorice harmonizes the medicines (and the pharmacological properties of the different Chinese medicines).
Cough Stopper has the efficacy of promoting lung qi and relieving wind and cough. It is mainly used in the treatment of cough with itchy throat, cough and sputum, or fever with slight wind.
