Irregular morphology of the gestational sac in early pregnancy may be caused by normal phenomenon or embryonic dysplasia, which needs to be dealt with under doctor’s guidance.
1. Normal phenomenon: Pregnant women with long menstrual cycle, due to delayed ovulation and fertilized egg implantation, may show irregular morphology during the first ultrasound examination due to small gestational sac, progesterone and blood HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels are normal, and the ultrasound examination can be repeated in about 1 week.
2. Embryonic dysplasia: it will also be manifested as irregular morphology of the gestational sac or embryonic abortion indicated by ultrasound examination, the size of the gestational sac may not match with the actual time of pregnancy, and the levels of progesterone and blood HCG are low or decreasing, so it is necessary to follow the doctor’s advice to preserve the fetus, and if necessary, perform a timely evacuation of the uterus.
