If your period has not cleared for more than 20 days, the first thing to do in this case is to rule out the possibility of pregnancy, and you can use your morning urine to test for early pregnancy. If pregnancy is ruled out, it is recommended to take oral hemostatic medication, such as tranexamic acid for three days. If the bleeding still does not stop, you must go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination to find out the thickness of the endometrium, mainly to rule out endometrial lesions. If the endometrium is still thickened in this case, a diagnostic curettage must be done. The scraped tissue will then be sent for pathological tests and treatment will be given according to the results of the pathological diagnosis. In case of hyperplasia, atypical hyperplasia, or cancer of the endometrium, different treatment should be given for different etiologies.
